Youth Work Assistant

Cheviot Youth are looking for two Youth Work Assistants.

They will support the day to day running, development and evaluation of our Project programmes in an efficient and effective manner.  In doing so they will work closely with the staff team, Cheviot Youth Manager and outside agencies to ensure the best possible service is delivered. Main responsibilities for this role will involve support of the drop-in programme, some group work and occasional one to one work with young people based around issues affecting young people. The post holder will also be expected to involve themselves in the monitoring and evaluation of all work and the collection of information.

These posts are offered on a one year contract basis of 16 hours per week at £9 per hour with some evening work.

Community Youth Support Worker (Emotional Health & Wellbeing)

Cheviot Youth is looking to appoint a Community Youth Support Worker (Emotional Well-Being & Mental Health) as part of the Borders wide Stepping Stones team.

The Community Youth Support Worker will offer responsive and consistent high-quality support to young people aged between 8 – 18 years in various locations across the Scottish Borders. In doing so they will be responsible for providing intensive support to identified young people on a one to one basis and in small group work on topics such as emotional well-being, transition, anxiety, cyber-bullying, confidence, self-esteem and relationships. The post holder will ensure that an individual learning plan is developed in partnership with each young person.  In addition, the post holder will work closely with YouthBorders and in partnership with other local and statutory partners to ensure best outcomes for young people.

Salary: £20,020 pro rata for 20 hours per week
