clubs & drop-ins
Cheviot Youth runs a range of clubs and drop-ins throughout the Cheviot area. At the moment we run youth work activities at these drop-ins and clubs in Jedburgh and Kelso; please see our Facebook page for the days and times which we are open. In offering youth work provision for children and young people we are guided and directed by what young people want and say they need. Such a democratic model of youth work provision has meant that we have run a diverse, exciting and challenging programme of activities and events which over the last few years has included a guitar club, filmmaking, jewellery making, baking, sculpture, drama, mountain biking, football tournaments with many day trips, courses and training events to suit all ages and tastes. To access all that we offer all you have to do is to become a member by signing up HERE or via the link below; its free, so what are you waiting for!

C-Card
C-card and C-card training is important to Cheviot Youth as a charity which sees the extra-curriculum education of children and young people as one of its founding aims. The C-Card scheme is an accessible, sensible and successful way in which we can talk to and educate young people about condoms, relationships and all aspects of sexual and reproductive health. Delivered in an informal and fun setting and not being a lesson is a way in which debate and discussion about important matters of consent, what it means to be sexually active and the importance of good, trusting and equal relationships can be conducted. If you would like to know more about this scheme and the training to administer it please contact info@cheviotyouth.co.uk
Volunteering

Having been awarded the coveted 'Volunteer Friendly' status by Volunteer Action Scotland, Cheviot Youth has many high quality volunteering opportunities across all its three service divisions. Within Youth Work Services you could help us in the Café, administration, youth work or sessional work around sports, art, music, drama, dance, or special skills of any kind. Whatever your interest we will be sure to have something that you will enjoy and satisfy your need to give something back to your community. Cheviot Youth understands as well, that volunteering can also be the first step back to full or supported employment which is why we treat all volunteers on an equal footing with our staff team giving them the training, attention and support to ensure that their time with us is a productive and satisfying one. To discuss what you want out of volunteering please make an appointment to have chat with us by emailing Heather at heathermcfadzean@cheviotyouth.co.uk

Training
Cheviot Youth will in any given year be offering hundreds of training hours from one day certificated courses such as First Aid and Elementary Food Hygiene to support in longer term, more in-depth courses. All staff, supported employment personnel and volunteers are offered a comprehensive training package that will benefit them while working with Cheviot Youth but will also improve their CV and future employability as they progress their career away from our charity. If you would like to discuss what training we may be able to arrange for you as a volunteer or in a supported employment role please email info@cheviotyouth.co.uk.
